The reference resource for Turkish Geographical Indications
Origin Türkiye is an independent research and reference platform covering Turkey's geographical indication products. We publish technical specifications, EU registration data, and export market information for international buyers, importers, and trade professionals. Every entry cites the EU Official Journal notice or TÜRKPATENT record it is drawn from. An exporter directory is in preparation and is not yet live.
Anatolian Geographical Indications (GIs) represent a unique intersection of specific microclimates, fertile soils, and centuries-old traditional production techniques. From the intensely fruity Aydın Memecik Zeytinyağı, registered as an EU Protected Designation of Origin in 2024, to Sinop Kestane Balı, whose EU application is still pending, each product tells a story of authentic quality.
Anatolian Geographical Indications (GIs) are defined by the unique Terroir—the intersection of specific microclimates and mineral-rich soils. From the high-altitude chestnut forests of the Küre Mountains to the alluvial plains of the Büyük Menderes, we document the environmental factors that create world-class quality.
Authenticity is verified through strict technical specifications. Whether it is the 61%–68% oil content of Giresun Tombul Fındığı (EU-PDO) or the onion-free mandate of Antep Lahmacunu, we provide the data-driven specs that define the gold standard for international trade.
Each product record links the production method described in the specification to the registration that protects it, with the file number and publication date needed to check the entry against the EU register directly.
