About Origin Türkiye

Mission

Turkish products registered under the EU Geographical Indication scheme lack a single English-language source that buyers can trust. Information is scattered across the EU eAmbrosia database, Turkish trade bodies, and individual exporter websites. Origin Türkiye brings this data into one place, in English, kept current.

The platform serves two audiences. International buyers and importers use it to identify certified products and verified exporters. Turkish exporters, chambers of commerce, and producer cooperatives use it to reach those buyers directly.

How the registry is built

Every product record traces to a named primary source. Sources include EU Register Extracts, Commission Implementing Regulations, EU Official Journal Single Documents, and TÜRKPATENT certificates supplied directly by producer groups. No record is published on the basis of a secondary source alone.

The GI Register tracks new registrations from the EU Official Journal with a 72-hour update window. Pending applications are shown with pipeline status until a registration is confirmed. Full sourcing detail and update criteria are documented at gi-register/methodology, and the public change history is at gi-register/changelog.

Editorial oversight

OT Team, Registry Editor reviews each product record before publication and maintains the verification standard applied to exporter listings.
