Data Sources and Methodology

OT Team, Registry Editor

Source hierarchy

Tier 1 — Authoritative sources (define truth)

EU eAmbrosia register and EU Official Journal publications. These are the primary legal sources for all EU-PDO and EU-PGI registration data. Registration dates, registration numbers, and certification status are taken from these sources only.

Tier 2 — Validation sources (confirm context)

TÜRKPATENT public records, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry publications, and producer association documents. Used to confirm domestic registration numbers, applicant institutions, and production zone descriptions.

Tier 3 — Signal sources (identify potential updates)

Trade press, chamber of commerce announcements, and LinkedIn publications. Used to identify potential new registrations or pipeline stage movements. Not used as a source for any data published on this platform without Tier 1 or Tier 2 confirmation.
